Can U Let A Bonsai Fruit Tree Grow Big?
| |
Hi, im planning on growing some bonsai fruit trees and i was wondering….Now im currently renting my house but id love some fruit trees so i want to know if theres anyway i can grow them as bonsai fruit trees and then replant them into the garden in a few years time when i can afford to buy my own property so they will grow to full sized trees . I pretty much just want a head start because i know they take years to grow and get fruit from when they are full sized trees. ive never had much to do with bonsais so id love any help, Thanks

In short, yes, you can certainly do this.
However, you don’t need to formally ‘bonsai’ them. Just stick them in a large pot (one that you can lift and move!).
When it comes time to plant them in the soil, just take them out of the pots, loosen the roots if you can, and let them go.
Why don’t try hydroponic growing? With hydroponic technique, you don’t really need a lot of space and it is soil-less. That means, you can actually grow your fruit in an indoor garden with the help of grow lights. This way, you don’t have to worry about transferring them to the ground when they grow big.
There is not a type of tree called a bonsai tree. Bonsai is the name of the method that you use to make ANY kind of tree keep a small size.
Some trees do not bonsai well, because of their trunk and root system not being able to function properly at that small size. I have heard of miniature fruit trees, but bonsai? I don’t know if that would work. Check bonsai websites.
