There are many uses for garden spades – The most obvious one that springs to mind is to dig up your garden, but did you know that it can also be used for the ‘finishing off’ – the patting down of soil after your planting is all done.

As I am sure you are aware a standard garden spade has a long handle and a heavy flat blade. A fork on the other hand has a long handle but is finished with between 3 and 6 prongs or tines – They are used for separating, lifting and throwing soil, leaves and other debris that maybe located in your soil.
