How Can You Soundproof A Garden Shed?

hi,
I’m hoping to soundproof my 10×8 wooden garden shed so I can play my drums but I don’t really know how to do it. I’ve heard many ways of doing it but some are just too expensive for me – I’d like to keep it under £200 if possible [but a bit over would be fine].
Now I know that for that price, it would be very difficult to fully soundproof it, but I’d like to reduce the noice as much as possible to a minimal for my price range. Any tips on what materials to use and where to buy them from would be greatly apprecaited!
Thanks,
Tom

Check your local home improvement store for bulk packs of styrofoam slabs (1″ – 1.5″ thick, sold in packs of 3-6); they’re typically used to insulate metal garage doors.
Use a light-duty construction adhesive to apply the styrofoam slabs to the walls and ceiling of your shed. Cut and tape together pieces to cover the windows, but just set the constructed slab into the window space instead of gluing it in… you want to be able to remove it easily in case of… well, in case of “bad stuff.”
For the door, cut & piece the slabs together to cover each door individually and make sure you leave just a tich of room on all sides so that opening/closing the door isn’t impeded.
Still within your budget, add a second layer of sound-deadening insulation in the form of fabric –consider recycling old blankets bought from a thrift shop– stapled onto the the top of the walls styrofoam slabs. Don’t stretch the blankets tightly, just let ‘em drape from near the ceiling. It’s the air trapped by the blankets that’ll GREATLY increase the fabric’s sound-proofing efficacy.
    Hope this helps,

Insulate the shed, including the floor and door and then nail old carpeting to everything. Not going to be perfect, but it’s about as good as you get without buying proper sound proofing.
You can save money by using alternative insulation sources, like newspaper or straw, or other trash like that, but the proper housing insulation will work best. You could probably score some old stuff at construction sites for free if you’re willing to hunt around.

Go to a furniture store and buy the big pasteboard boxes furniture is shipped in, cut into sections and nail it inside the shed.Over that nail spacers of approximately one inch wood strips then more layers of cardboard and more wood strips until there are six or eight layers of cardboard on the inside of this shed, then perhaps the neighbors will stop trying to assassinate you! Good luck!
