If Your Boyfriend Lived In A Garden Shed Would You Feel Nervous Leaving Him There Alone At Night?
![]() |
If your boyfriend spend nights sleeping in a garden shed in his parents backyard would you feel uncomfortable letting him stay there? The garden shed has no restroom inside and is only 100 square feelt. The inside walls are drywall walls. There is a small heater and no windows inside the shed.
Would you feel sorry for him? He doesn’t want to stay inside the house becasue he is in his 20s and his parents bother him. He can’t afford an apartment or a room.
If you were to say goodnight to him and leave the shed would you close his shed door or leave the door open?
If he gave you a key to the shed door would you close and lock his door after saying good night to him? Would you turn off his lights inside the shed before leaving the shed?

I completely understand why you are distraught. Locking him in that small shed at night is a disater. If he is locked in from the outside it is truly a safety issue and he could perish in there.
I understand that he is having problems with his parents but I cannot understand why his parents would even “allow” him to live in such deplorable conditions. They should be able to sit down as a family and work something out so that their Son’s life is not in jeporady. This is a very disfunctional family. Also, it is against fire codes and safety codes. The parents, even though he is 20 are allowing him to live at home but in sub-standard conditions which is abuse. This situation needs to be adressed immediately. He needs to move back into his room in the house and they need to learn to live as a family unit until he can get on his own. Perhaps he needs to try harder to get on his own, but until he can his parents cannot have him living in a garden shed without windows and proper venting. This is clearly abuse. Please talk to your boyfriend and tell him he needs to move back into the house and find a way to either “talk” to his parents or “ignore” the problems until he can afford to move.
No one is thinking about when the cold hits and he could freeze to death out there. The parents could be charged with abuse or even some type of murder charges. Please talk to your boyfriend. Good luck
Peace & Love
That’s…quite a question…
If he lives in a shed and he’s in his 20s, that’s his problem. No sympathy. I would tell him to get a (better) job and find a real place to live. I would close the door, because that’s what I do when I leave any room, shed or not…Why would I lock the door? Can he unlock it from the inside? If he can’t, he’d be trapped. If he can, he can do it himself, when he is ready to lock the door.
Nope, I would wait till he is gone and then back my car into the shed knocking the thing down and then say to him grow up move back into your parents house and save some money and get a real place. Then look up the definition of a Shed and let him read it. Then tell him to grow up …. His parents bother him???
I can only imagine what the parents think when they look out the window.
The better question is what kind of female dates a male who lives in a garden shed.
i really think you should find a boyfriend who can afford rent to NOT live in a garden shed if he dislikes his parents.
Sorry but the guy is in his 20′s, so I would have no sympathy for him.
I think it would depend on were you live
