What Other Functions Might Landscaping Companies Perform During The Winter Months To Earn Income?

I am a graduate student preparing a business plan for a landscaping company. With this I have run into a sort of dead end concerning revenue during the winter months. I am trying to figure out what the company might do during the winter time when landscapers can not work.

Our friend that does landscaping in the summer, does interior painting in the winter months.
Almost all the landscaping companies I know of plow snow in the winter time. The two things just seem to go together.

As they get closer to winter, they could winterize sprinkler systems, clean up debris from landscaped areas (dead plants, leaves, etc) and could professionally install holiday decorations that go with the landscaping style.
There is also snow & ice removal, which in certain areas of the country is a pretty big issue. Could tree trimming be done during winter months?
If the spring, summer & autumn months are busy enough – winter could be used as a time to reassess equipment (major cleaning, repainting, repair, replacement), market for new clients, update contracts (clients, advertising, vendors) and take vacations.
